During my years in the Navy, this was a lesson I came back to again and again. You couldn't always choose your assignment, or the work waiting for you that day. Maybe you were leading Sailors. Maybe you were serving food. Maybe you were scrubbing a toilet. Whatever the job was, you could still choose to be the best at it.

Grow where you're planted is a reminder not to spend your life wishing you were somewhere else. Learn from where you are. Give your best to what's in front of you. Put down roots, become better, and flourish anyway.
